This post answers the question how does the research study works.
What are participants asked to do?
Each participant will be provided with a box. Included in the box are a set of cards, a wearable emotion recognition device, a diary as well as the instructions. The participant will have all materials they need for this study for 5 days.
The study consists of 3 stages. In the 1st stage, the box is opened together with the participant. A brief interview will be conducted using conversation cards.
In the 2nd stage, the participant wears the emotion recognition device at any time that is convenient within the 5 days. The participant can choose for how long or in which situation they feel most comfortable wearing it. The diary can be used to keep a record of thoughts and feelings during this time.
In the 3rd stage, the researcher will return on day 5 to collect the box. The researcher and participant will have a chat about how the emotion recognition device was experienced. This is an audio-recorded interview of about 20-30 mins.
And that’s it!
